Where found

Open grassy forest, shrubland, and near streams. North of Fitzroy Falls Reservoir and above Carringon Falls (south-east of Robertson).

Notes

Shrub or tree to 3 m high. Young stems with appressed, white or silvery to rusty simple hairs mixed with white stellate hairs (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see). Leaves alternating up the stems, 3.6–6 cm long, 14–22 mm wide, upper surface green and hairless, lower surface moderately hairy with loosely appressed, white-silvery simple hairs and dense white stellate hairs, tips pointed or with a long drawn out tip, margins entire, flat or slightly curved down. Flowers cream to yellow, externally hairy with loosely appressed, silvery simple hairs and dense stellate hairs, with 5 sepals each 1.8–2.0 mm long, and 5 petals each 1.7–1.9 mm long, in many-flowered clusters of 20-200 flowers. Flowering: July to November.

Critically endangered NSW. Provisions of the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 No 63 relating to the protection of protected plants generally also apply to plants that are a threatened species.
