Shrub to 0.3 m high, often rough with minute projections hairy. Leaves crowded, 0.8–1.2 cm long, about 1–2 mm wide, margins mostly rolled down. Male and female flowers on the same plant. Flowers white, 2–3 mm in diameter, with 5 sepals and 5 petals. Petals sometimes 0 in female flowers. Flowers in many-flowered clusters 30–80 mm in diameter. Flowering: spring to summer.
