Introduced perennial herb to 0.7 m high. Stems green or reddish, sparsely covered with short and long hairs. Flowering stems densely hairy. Leaves basal and alternating up the stems, 5–12 cm long, compound, with 5–7 leaflets each 1.5–8 cm long, 5–20 mm wide, upper surface almost hairless, lower surface sparsely hairy with white spreading hairs, margins toothed. Flowers yellow, with 5 petals each 6–12 mm long, in many-flowered open clusters. Flowers Spring to summer.
