Rainforest and wet forest near drainage lines. Coast and eastern edge of the ranges north of Broken Bay.
Shrub to 3 m high, sometimes scrambling. Branches densely covered with long, whitish hairs, moderately covered with stalkless glands. The whole plant strongly aromatic. Leaves opposite each other, 1.2–4 cm long, 8–24 mm wide, surfaces dusty green, hairy with long more or less spreading hairs, moderately covered with almost stalkless glands, margins flat, deeply toothed with the rounded teeth directed forward, tips blunt. Flowers pale mauve to mauve or bluish, about 8 to 14 mm long, with a bell-shaped tube, 2-lipped, 5-lobed. Calyx 2-lobed. Flowers in 4-10 flowered leafless clusters. Flowering: spring.
