Dry forest. Mainly east of Albury. Rarely elsewhere.
Shrub to 2 m high. Stems sparsely to densely appressed-hairy. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.8–2 cm long, 3–6 mm wide, concave in cross section, tips rounded and usually minutely notched, margins flat, upper surface becoming hairless, darker than the lower surface, lower surface hairless. Flowers 7–12 mm long, pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel. Standard petal yellow to orange, wings yellow to orange, keel red to purple. Bracteoles linear, hairy, inserted on the calyx tube. Flowers in dense clusters of more than 5 flowers. Flowers September-November. Pods densely to sparsely hairy, smooth.
