Weed of pastures, lawns and roadsides. Western Slopes. Rarely elsewhere. Doubtfully naturalised in the ACT.

Notes

Introduced perennial herb, arising annually from a swollen round underground stem (corm). Flower stalks 2–4, to 0.05 m long. Leaves several, basal, 6–20 cm long, 0.5–1.2 mm wide, flattened cylindrical. Flowers tubular, the tube dull yellow, 2–3 mm long, with 6 lobes, each 5–9 mm long, pale pink to lilac, often shaded blue near the base and tips, the outer 'petals' greenish outside. Flowers single. Flowers Aug.–Oct.
