Dry forest, woodland, grassy areas, and rocky sites. Tablelands south from near the Hume Higway. ACT. Kosciuszko National Park.
Perennial herb with a woody base to 0.1 m high, sprawling or mat-forming. Stems usually hairless. Leaves crowded, 0.3–1 cm long, 0.2-1 mm wide, thickened towards the tips, keeled, hairless; tips mucronate, the mucro 0.2–0.9 mm long; margin very narrow, membranous, warty and appearing finely toothed. Flowers pale green, with 0 petals. Stamens 2, enclosed within the calyx, falling early. Sepals overlapping at the base, or tubular with 5 spreading lobes 0.5-3 mm long. Flowers in dense clusters, surrounded by 5 bracts, the bracts often longer than the flowers. Flowering: spring-summer.
