Forest, woodland, grassy areas, and roadsides. Sydney area and west to Cowra. Western Slopes.
Shrub or perennial herb to 1.5 m high. Stems longitudinally ribbed, initially hairy, becoming hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, 8–12 cm long, compound, with 8-20 leaflets, the largest 2-5 cm long, 4–9 mm wide, spaced 10-15 mm apart, surfaces hairless, tips pointed. A large, flat, reddish gland at the base of the leaf stalk. Flowers yellow, with 5 petals each 8-12 mm long. Flowers single or in few-flowered clusters. Flowers summer.
Family was Caesalpiniaceae.
