Perennial herb or shrub to 1 m tall, prostrate to sprawling. Stems densely stellate-hairy (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see). Leaves alternating along the stems, 0.6-4.5 cm long, 5-30 mm wide, hairy, sometimes becoming hairless, surfaces greyish above, paler and more densely hairy below, bases rounded or almost cordate, margins toothed. Flowers yellow, with 5 petals each 3–5.5 mm long. Flowers single or in clusters of 3-7. Flowers usually spring or autumn.
