Where found

Woodland, shrubland, grasslands, pastures, crops, roadsides, gardens, disturbed sites, and near streams. Western Slopes.

Notes

Introduced annual herb to 1.3 m tall, hairless to hairy with short hairs. Leaves basal and alternating up the stems, to 15 cm long, hairy or hairless, the lower leaves dissected with 2 or 3 pairs of lateral lobes, margins toothed, upper leaves with toothed, occasionally entire, margins. Flowers yellow, with 4 petals each 1–2.5 mm long, in clusters at the tops of the stems, which elongate as the 'pods' mature. 'Pods' linear, straight, more or less horizontal, 2.5–5 cm long, 1 mm wide, stalk 2–5 mm long, thick. Flowers mainly spring.
