Garden escape. Sydney area north from Camden, and north.
Introduced shrub to about 1.5 m high. Branchlets hairy to hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, 2–8 cm long, 7–20 mm wide, margins toothed, surfaces hairless, sometimes the lower surface hairy, upper surface dark green, lower surface bluish. Flowers white, with 5 petals each 2.5–4 mm long. Flowers in many-flowered clusters. Flowers spring.
Family was Malaceae.
