Swampy heath. Sydney area and north. Rarely farther south.
Shrub to 1 m high, hairless. Stems wiry, smooth. Leaves alternating up the stems, overlapping each other, 0.3–1.2 cm long, 1.5–3.2 mm wide, tips gradually tapering to a point, with a mucro 0.3–0.4 mm long; margins with minute teeth, bases completely sheathing the stems. Flowers white, tubular, the tube usually 2–3 mm long, rarely to 6 mm long, with 5 erect to spreading lobes each about 6 mm long. Flowers single. Flowering: June–September
