Moist heath and peaty swamps. Coastal north of Lake Tabourie, and south of Eden. Ranges and the eastern part of the tablelands north of Lake Tabourie.
Broom-like perennial herb to 1 m high, hairless. Stems striate, wiry. Leaves alternating up the stems, reduced to scales to 0.15 cm long. Flowers yellow to yellow-green, tubular, the tube 2–3.3 mm long; with 5 lobes 1–2.1 mm long. Flowers in clusters of 1–4, forming an interrupted one-sided spike. Flowers Spring to Autumn.
