Where found

Forest, heath, and moist sites. Coast, ranges, and tablelands, mostly north from near the Kings Highway. Occasionally elsewhere.

Notes

Perennial herb to 0.3 m high. Flower stalks reddish, at least at the base. Leaves tufted, 2–5 cm long, less than 1 mm wide, margins often curved upwards and finely toothed, surfaces hairless. Flowers pink to deep pink, 5–8 mm in diameter, with a short tube and 4 petals, and a hinged reddish column sensitive to movement, arising from the centre of the flower. Flowers in elongated clusters. Flowering: April–June and October-January.
