Dry forest and heath. Coast and ranges north from Thirlmere.
Shrub usually to 1.8 m high. Fruit dry or slightly fleshy. Branchlets hairy with fine hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 1.48–3 cm long, 4.7–7.2 mm wide, more or less flat, margins entire or fringed with minute hairs; surfaces hairless or the upper surface rough near the base. Flowers translucent green, tubular, the tube 14–25 mm long, with 5 tightly rolled lobes. Anthers extending well beyond the flower tube. Flowers single, rarely 2 or 3 together, almost erect to horizontal.
Family was Epacridaceae.
