Variety of habitats. Mostly ranges and tablelands west of the Sydney area.
Perennial herb to about 1 m high. Stems hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, compound, mostly 5–10 cm long, with 11–29 leaflets, the lower leaflets mostly 0.8–2 cm long, 3–10 mm wide, tips blunt to notched, both surfaces hairless. Flowers pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, mostly 12–15 mm long, 15–20 mm wide, white, pink, purple, yellow, orange or dark red, in clusters of 15-20 flowers.
Endangered Vic. Listed in the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act, Vic.
