Open forest, woodland, and moist heath. Coastal areas. Ranges north of the Kings Highway.
Shrub to 0.75 m high. Sometimes appearing annual-like and flowering when only about 10 cm tall. Stems more or less hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, 1–3 cm long, usually deeply divided into 3–9 segments; segments of divided leaves 2–10 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide. The entire leaves, and the segments of divided leaves, cylindrical, hairless, the midvein obscure. Flowers pale yellow, with 4 spreading 'petals' each 4–5 mm long. Flowers in narrow elongated clusters 1-8 cm long. Flowering: Aug.-Nov.
