Dry forest, open situations, and near streams. Western Slopes.
Shrub to 0.6 m high, erect to prostrate. Stems more or less cylindrical to angular, more or less ridged, hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, 1–7 cm long, 2–6 mm wide, tips with a short curved mucro, sometimes blunt. Flowers reddish brown and yellow, 10–12 mm long, pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel. Flowers single or paired. Flowers: spring.
