Shrub to 0.4 m high. Stems cylindrical, ridged, with numerous bristles, densely hairy with greyish hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, rarely opposite each other, 0.3–1.5 cm long, usually 1–1.5 mm wide, hairless or glandular hairy, margins more or less rolled down. Flowers deep lilac-pink, with 4 petals each 6–15 mm long. Sepals 2.5–4 mm long, hairless or with scattered hairs, and falling early. Flower single, stalks covered with greyish hairs, and usually 3-6 mm long. Flowering: spring-summer.
