Dry forest and heath. Coast and ranges north of Berry. One record from the Budawang Range, Morton National Park.
Shrub usually to 0.6 m high. Stems cylindrical, 4-angled, or ridged, hairy, the hairs usually both short and long. Leaves in whorls of 4–6, rarely fewer at the bases of the stems, 0.3–1.5 cm long, usually less than 1 mm wide, hairless or glandular-hairy, margins rolled down and often covering the midrib. Flowers deep lilac-pink, with 4 petals each 5–10 mm long. Ovary hairy with minute hairs, or hairless. Flowers single, on stalks 6-15 mm long. Flowering: mostly August–November.
