Dry forest, woodland, shrubland and heath, sometimes in damp situations. Widespread.
Perennial herb to 0.8 m tall, arising annually from a plump tuber. Flowering stems cylindrical, hairless, much-branched. Leaves basal, 20–60 cm long, 2-4 mm wide, linear, more or less cylindrical towards the tips, becoming channelled towards the bases and with narrow membranous wings at the base. Flowers mauve to pink, with 6 'petals' each 10–20 mm long. Flower clusters 1–8-flowered. Flowering: Sept.–Apr.
Family Anthericaceae in NSW.
