Prefers damp and shaded areas, Forest, woodland, urban bushland, disturbed sites and gardens, stream banks, ditches, and wet gullies. Coast and ranges.
Introduced perennial herb. Stems to 4 m long, rooting at the nodes, prostrate or initially prostrate and the stem tips later turning up, often forming dense mats. Somewhat fleshy. Leaves alternating along the stems, 2.5–6.5 cm long, 10–30 mm wide, hairless, dark green above, green or slightly purplish beneath, bases with a sheath, tips pointed. Flowers about 20 mm in diameter, with 3 white petal', the petals free from each other. Flowers in clusters of 15–20 flowers. Flowers mainly Spring to Summer.
Was Tradescamtoa albiflora.
