Rainforest margins, moist situations in dry forest, and along streams. Coast, ranges, and the eastern edge of the tablelands, north of Bega.
Shrub or tree to 35 m tall. Bark smooth to fibrous or flaky, and creamy grey. Young stems hairy, becoming hairless. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, often becoming clustered toward the stem tips, 4-10 cm long, 10-25 mm wide, tips pointed, upper surface green and hairless, lower surface yellowish and hairless; oil glands numerous and crowded (visible when the leaf is held up to the light and/or by using the macro app on your phone/tablet). Flowers with 5 yellow petals each 2.5-3 mm long, in clusters of 3-7 flowers. Flowers Summer.
