Coastal heath in moist places and shallow water. Sydney area north from the harbour. Rarely elsewhere. Not common.
Perennial herb, stoloniferous. Insect traps on the stems and leaves. Leaves usually 0.5–5 cm long, the smaller leaves simple, the larger leaves deeply divided 2-3 times. Flowers dark blue-violet with 2 white streaks at the base of the lower lip, 7–10 mm long, 2-lipped, the upper lip small, sometimes notched, the lower lip fan-shaped. Flowers in a single 2–20-flowered cluster 10–45 cm long. Flowering: February–March
