Disturbed, usually moist, sites. Mainly coastal. Occasionally on the tablelands.
Introduced annual or rarely biennial or perennial herb to 0.50 m high. Forms mats. Stems and leaves densely grey- or white-cottony or woolly. Basal leaves soon withering. Stem leaves alternating up the stems, 1–6 cm long, 1–7 mm wide, narrowed at the base. Flower heads white, the tips of the florets yellow to red, 2–3 mm long, 1–2 mm in diameter, 10–40 together in globular clusters. Flowering: most of year.
