Forest, often in moist and sheltered areas. Ranges and tablelands north from Kanangra Boyd National Park and nearby.
Shrub or woody herb to 0.50 m high, hairless and glaucous. One to several erect softly woody stems from a narrow rootstock. Stems mostly unbranched below the flower clusters and dying back after seeding. Leaves opposite each other, mostly 2.5–5.5 cm long, 10–20 mm wide, V-shaped in cross section, tips more or less pointed, bases cordate, squared off, or wedge shaped, margins with 8–18 pairs of shallow teeth. Flowers bright blue-violet, 6–7 mm long, with a short tube and 4 spreading lobes. Stamens 2. Flower clusters mostly 8–40 cm long, 15–35-flowered. Flowers late Spring to early Summer.
Family was Scrophulariaceae.
