Perennial herb to 0.35 m high, with long slender rhizomes; surface runners absent. Flowering stems very slender or almost threadlike, with hairs arising from very short warts, in longitudinal bands, more or less inconspicuous or rarely absent. Leaves opposite each other, 1.1–3 cm long, 0.8–2.5 mm wide, narrowed gradually toward the tips and bases, tips pointed and with a small abrupt point, margins entire and somewhat rolled down and thickened, lateral veins scarcely visible, surfaces hairless except for very short hairs on the upper surface at and near the margins. Flowers pale blue to mauve, 3.5–5 mm long, with a short tube and 4 spreading lobes. Stamens 2. Flowers in clusters of 1-6 flowers. Flowering: spring to late summer. Seed cases longer than broad.
Family was Scrophulariaceae.
