Garden escape. Mainly Sydney area. Occasionally elsewhere.
Introduced trailing perennial herb, rooting at the nodes. Flowering stems ascending, to 0.4 m high. Leaves opposite each other, 1–4.5 cm long, 5–25 mm wide, glossy, hairless, tips pointed, bases rounded or wedge-shaped, stalk to 10 mm long. Flowers white, purplish-red or bluish-violet, tubular, the tube 9–11 mm long, with 5 spreading lobes each 8–15 mm long. Sepals 3–5 mm long, hairless. Flowers single.
