Woodland and shrubland. Western Slopes.
Annual, biennial, or perennial herb to about 0.3 m high, sparsely hairy to hairy with stiff hairs, often sticky. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.3–3.5 cm long, 1–8 mm wide, flat or often longitudinally folded, margins entire, or with 1–3 small teeth near the tips, tips pointed. Flower heads 5–6 mm long, with 15-20 pale mauve to purple 'petals' each 1–2 mm long, and yellow centres. Flowers in open clusters at the tops of the stems. Flowering: most of the year.
Vulnerable Vic.
Definite identification of most species of Vittadinia depends on microscopic examination of the seeds.
