Dry forest, shrubland, rocky areas, and near streams. Coast and ranges north of Kiama. Occasionally elsewhere.
Shrub to 3 m high. Stems hairy with appressed hairs. Leaves slightly aromatic when rubbed, in whorls of 3, 1.2–3.5 cm long, 1–2 mm wide, surfaces very sparsely hairy or hairless, rarely the lower surface moderately hairy, margins entire, and flat to slightly curved down. Flowers about 8–10 mm long, white to pale mauve with purple to light brown dots, tubular, 2-lipped, with 5 lobes. Calyx tubular, with 5 lobes. Flowers single at the bases of the leaves, in elongated leafy clusters. Flowers throughout the year.
