Garden escape and round old habitations. Sydney area. Great Western Highway and Mid Western Highway. Coastal mainly north from Jervis Bay. Canberra.
Introduced shrubby plant to about 4.5 m high. Leaves fleshy, spine tipped, margins finely toothed and prickly, crowded at the top of the stem, 70–100 cm long, 30–50 mm wide, surfaces hairless, bluish grey. Flowers bell-shaped, about 50 mm long, whitish, with 6 'petals'. Flowers in many-flowered branched clusters. Seed cases purplish.
