Forest, heath, rocky outcrops, and rocky river banks. Mainly Kanangra Boyd National Park and east of Bathurst. Rarely elsewhere.
Shrub to 2.5 m high. Stems ridged, glandular warty, hairy with simple hairs between the leaf bases, becoming hairless. Leaf bases often continue down the stems. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite each other, mostly compound, with 3 leaflets, each 0.25–1.2 cm long, 2–6.5 mm wide, tips more or less rounded, notched to cordate, and mucronate, margins more or less scalloped; both surfaces dotted with oil glands and more or less hairless, upper surface dark green, lower surface paler. Flowers white to pink, with 4 petals each 2.5–3.5 mm long, and with 4 stamens. Flower clusters usually longer than the leaves, usually 5–9-flowered. Flowering: spring to mid–summer.
