Summary
- Worldwide distribution. In the tropics. On eggplant. A minor disease, not usually needing control measures.
- Spots start as round yellow flecks, slightly sunken, becoming more irregular with yellow halos. Later, they merge, and the leaves die early.
- Spores on the underside of the leaves are spread in wind and rain.
- Cultural control: if control is needed test different varieties as some more tolerant than others.
- Chemical control: if required use, copper, chlorothalonil, or mancozeb.

Pseudocercospora egenula. Note, Cercospora melongenae is present in American Samoa.
