Summary
  • Worldwide distribution. In Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu. On breadfruit, jackfruit and relatives.
  • Minor disease
  • Brown, spore-bearing pustules (uredinia) on underside of leaves, matching brown spots above.
  • Spread: spores on the wind.
  • Cultural control and chemical control not needed.
Common Name

Breadfruit rust. It is also known as leaf rust of breadfruit.
