Distribution

Occurs in the Keep R. Natl Park, at Jasper Gorge, and the Mt Brockman area in Kakadu Natl Park, N.T.; extending just into W.A. E of Kununurra.

Description

Closely related to A. alleniana but differing mainly in the following ways: Phyllodes slightly thicker; gland normally 1–4 mm above pulvinus. Pods narrowly oblong, rounded over seeds along midline, to 10 cm long, 8–18 mm wide, chartaceous, pruinose (pruinosity often absent on herbarium material).Seeds suborbicular to widely elliptic, 3–4.5 mm wide, slightly shiny.

Habitat

Grows on sandstone hills.

W.A.: E of Kununurra, off Victoria Hwy, I.Cowie 4162 (BRI n.v., CANB n.v., DNA n.v., MEL n.v., PERTH). N.T.: Keep River Natl Park, C.R.Dunlop 5823 (DNA, PERTH); Koongarra area, [Kakadu Natl Park], C.R.Dunlop 4866 (DNA).

Notes

A member of the ‘A. juncifolia group’. It cannot be distinguished with certainty from A. alleniana unless in fruit. Both species occur in the Kakadu Natl Park.
