Phyllode length

Measure (in mm) length of mature phyllodes from base to tip (including pulvinus and apical point).

Best to include a range of measurements (i.e. longest and shortest phyllode).

Ignore new shoots.

For curved phyllodes measure along line of the curvature (not a straight line from base to tip).

For very short phyllodes (i.e. less than about 5 mm long) it is especially important to measure accurately because an error of even 1 mm may result in your eliminating the correct answer from Taxa Remaining.

Phyllode length has strong discriminating power within Acacia.
