Queensland (Qld) botanical regions
Geographic Features have fairly strong discriminating power, but use them carefully. If a specimen comes from near the boundary between two or more regions, select several regions to allow for range extensions or geographic imprecision. Also, it is not advisable to use this Feature too early in your identification.
The States of this Feature represent the 13 Pastoral districts recognized for Queensland and which are used as botanical divisions by the Queensland Herbarium. These Districts are mostly delineated along watersheds but in some places along shire or property boundaries.
Distribution data for this Feature were derived from the HERBREC specimen database of the Queensland Herbarium.
