Rhizome long-creeping, 5–8 mm diam., scaly; scales brown, c. 8 mm long, 1 mm wide, hairy. Fronds c. 1.5 m long. Stipe c. 50 cm long, glabrous. Lamina 1-pinnate, to 50 cm long; pinnae to 25 pairs; largest pinnae c. 17–20 cm long, 1.7–2 cm wide; middle pinnae broadly cuneate to truncate at base, lobed to one-third of distance to costae; lobes as wide as long, with broad, antrorse tips; veins 6–9 pairs; basal veins spreading at a broad angle to costules, uniting to form an excurrent vein to the sinus; next veins oblique, 1 or 2 ending beside the sinus membrane; lower surface of rachis, costae, costules and veins bearing short acicular hairs; glands on distal veins in pinna lobes subsessile, spherical. Sori close to margins of lobes, not on lower veins; indusium thin, pale brown, often with some acicular hairs and a few small glandular hairs.

Terrestrial in lowland or lower montane mesic vine forest.
