Crepidomanes barnardianum (F.M.Bailey) Tindale

Description

Rhizome to 0.25 mm diam., widely creeping; hairs dark reddish brown, extending to stipe margins. Fronds 0.7–4 cm long. Stipe 1–10 mm long, winged to the base. Lamina ovate to ±palmate, 1–2 (–3)-pinnatifid, 0.7–3 cm long, 0.4–3.4 cm wide, glabrous; ultimate segments less than 1 mm wide, acute or obtuse; submarginal false vein present, mainly continuous; accessory false veins few. Sori clustered towards the frond apex; involucre cylindrical, tapering towards the base, 1–1.8 mm long, 0.7–1.1 mm diam.; mouth ±dilated but not bilabiate; receptacles exserted to c. 3 mm beyond the mouth. 

Distribution

Endemic to NE QLD between Iron Range and the Whitsundays.

Habit and habitat

Lithophytic or epiphytic, usually in shaded strata of mesic lowland to upper montane vine forest.
