Description

Rhizome 0.2–0.5 mm diam., widely creeping; hairs dark reddish brown, septate, extending to stipe margins. Fronds 1–8 cm long. Stipe 0.25–3.5 cm long, winged almost to the base. Lamina ovate to broadly triangular, 3-pinnatifid, 1.5–6.5 cm long, 0.7–4.2 cm wide. Ultimate segments 0.4–0.8 mm wide; apex acute; submarginal false vein continuous or broken by small gaps; accessory false veins few to many, commonly confluent with the submarginal false vein. Sori borne on basal acroscopic segments of the primary pinnae; involucre cylindrical, tapering towards the base, winged, 1.8–2.4 mm long, 0.8–1 mm diam.; mouth bilabiate; lips narrow, prominent, triangular.

Distribution

NE QLD from Kennedy Hill to Moranbah. Also widespread in Asia, Malesia and Pacific Islands.

Habit and habitat

Lithophytic or epiphytic in mesic lowland to lower montane vine forest.
