Description

Rhizome c. 0.25 mm diam., long-creeping; hairs dense, short, reddish brown. Fronds 0.4–4 cm long. Stipes widely spaced, 1.5–6 mm long, winged almost to the base. Lamina ovate to ovate-lanceolate, deeply 2–3-pinnatifid, 0.6–2.9 cm long, 1–1.5 cm wide, pale green. Ultimate segments linear, c. 1–1.5 mm wide; margins entire; marginal cells hyaline, slightly elongated, with slightly oblique end walls; submarginal row bistratose, with thickened walls giving a dark appearance and with very oblique end walls; apex obtuse, often notched. Sori immersed in short pinna segments; involucre narrowly bell-shaped to tubular, 1.5–2 mm long, 0.8–1.2 mm wide, narrowed at the base, winged; mouth dilated, entire; receptacle exserted to 1.8 mm beyond the mouth. 

Distribution

NE QLD between McIlwraith Range and Johnstone River. Also in Malesia and Pacific Islands.

Habit and habitat

Lithophytic and epiphytic in mesic lowland to lower montane vine forest. Usually seen near watercourses.
