Description

Rhizome to 0.5 mm diam., widely creeping; hairs dark brown, septate. Fronds 7–22 mm long. Stipe 1–8 mm long, dark brown, with hairs at the base. Lamina oblong-ovate, cuneate at the base, 1 (–2)-pinnatifid, 5–25 mm long, 2–10 mm wide. Ultimate segments to 2 mm wide; apex obtuse, sometimes shortly divided; submarginal false vein absent; accessory false veins numerous, short, flexuous, ±parallel to the costae. Sori terminal on the lobes, immersed; involucre funnel-shaped, 1–2 mm long, 0.8–1 mm wide; mouth truncate or slightly rounded; receptacle exserted to 0.3 mm beyond the mouth.

Distribution

Endemic to NE QLD between Lamb Range and Mt Spec.

Habit and habitat

Lithophytic or epiphytic in mesic mid to upper montane tropical vine forest.

Natural history

This very small species has been recorded very few times. Named after Miss Major co-collector of the type specimen near Ravenshoe.
