Rhizome 0.1–0.25 mm diam., long-creeping, much-branched. Fronds 0.7–6 cm long, some, or occasionally all, proliferous. Stipe 0.6–2 cm long, not winged. Lamina ovate to oblong, 1-pinnatifid to 1-pinnate-pinnatifid, 5–20 mm long, 3–11 mm wide, dark green; major divisions somewhat palmately lobed. Ultimate segments 0.2–0.7 mm wide; veins free, forked; lower surface bearing minute, club-like hairs; false veins absent. Sori terminal, immersed; involucre narrowly bell-shaped, 1.5–2 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide; mouth broadly dilated, entire; receptacle included or exserted to 1.5 mm beyond the mouth.
NE QLD between Iron Range and Eungella. Also in Asia, Malesia and Pacific Islands.
Lithophytic or epiphytic in tropical mesic mid to upper montane vine forest.
Similar to Crepidomanes saxifragoides but distinguished by C. proliferum having pinnate-pinnatifid fronds and proliferous buds on the axes (cf. palmate flabellate fronds without proliferous buds in C. saxifragoides).
