Description

Rhizome erect to short-creeping. Fronds 0.1–0.2 mm apart. Stipe with dark red-brown simple 0.5–2 mm long eglandular hairs. Lamina (2.8–) 4.3–7.4 (–9) cm long, 4–7 mm wide, membranous to thinly coriaceous; hairs dark red-brown, simple, 0.4–1.8 mm long, eglandular, on margin, both surfaces of midvein and on upper surface of lamina; veins visible in transmitted light, sometimes with hydathodes. Sori rounded to broadly elliptic, (2–) 5–20 (–25) pairs in middle to apical one-fifth to one-third of lamina. Sporangia setose; thickened annulus cells 9–12. Spores 22–30 µm diam.

Distribution

Known from the peaks of Mt Finnegan and Thornton Peak NE QLD. Also in Asia and Malesia.

Habit and habitat

Epiphytic or lithophytic among mosses in upper-montane rainforest.
