Perennial herb to 0.07 m high, prostrate, mat-forming. Leaves fleshy. Stems hairless. Leaves crowded, 0.5-1.5 cm long, 1–2 mm wide, linear, tips blunt, bases sheathing. About 12-15 green petal-like bracts surrounding each flower head, each 3-3.5 mm long. Flower heads single, 3-3.5 mm long, with 11-29 florets with white or white and purple lobes, and 0 petals. Flowering: summer.
