Forest and woodland at high altitude. In NSW, known only from the vicinity of Khancoban in the Snowy Mountains.
Tree to 15 m tall. Fleshy seed stalks/arils. Bark smooth, later deeply fissured. Branchlets angled towards the tips, hairless, often somewhat glaucous. 'Leaves' alternating up the stems, 7-18 cm long, 10-35 mm wide, hairless, 2–6 longitudinal veins prominent, tips somewhat pointed. Flower heads yellow, cylindrical, 15-60 mm long, in groups of 1-2 in the leaf axils. Flowering: October–March.
Family was Mimosaceae.
