Where found

Damp sandy and/or peaty soils. Ranges north from west of Wollongong. Sydney area and north.

Notes

Tufted perennial herb. Scape to 1.75 m tall. Leaves crowded at the base of the stem, to about 70 cm long, 2–5 mm wide, flat, channelled, keeled, margins somewhat thickened, flat or more or less rolled upwards, and scalloped and rough. Flowers bell-shaped, usually 35–60 mm long, 25-40 mm in diameter, red to orange with 6 yellow lobes, or wholly yellow. Anthers 3–5 mm long. Flowers in loose clusters, mostly 2–20-flowered. Flowering: late spring to early summer.

Intermediates between Blandfordia grandiflora and Blandfordia nobilis occur where their ranges overlap.
