Disturbed sites, mostly near habitations, and along streams. Coastal north of Batemans Bay.
Introduced perennial herb to 2 m high, rhizomatous. Stems hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, to 45 cm long and 250 mm wide, margins entire, narrowing to a sheath at the base. Flowers white to yellow to red to pink, sometimes with markings in other colours, apparently with 5 'petals', 3 'petals' to 100 mm long and 55 mm wide, one 'petal' to 80 mm long and 30 mm wide, and one about 15 mm wide. Flowers single or in pairs. Flowering: Late Winter to Summer.
