Where found

Forest and gullies. Coastal north of Batemans Bay. Rarely in the ranges.

Notes

Tree to 40 m high. Fruit fleshy. Bark dark grey or brown to almost black, rough and scaly on large trees. Young stems hairy, becoming hairless. Branchlets zigzaggy. Leaves alternating up the stems,  3–10 cm long, 10–35 mm wide, tough to stiff, upper surface hairless, dark green and shining, lower surface hairless or sparsely hairy and pale with a yellowish grey tinge, tips more or less pointed. Male and female flowers on different plants. Flowers white or creamy, 3-4 mm long, with 5 petals, in clusters of 3–5 flowers. Fruit yellow, turning reddish, 8-10 mm in diameter, ripe summer.
