Introduced perennial herb to about 1 m high, or sprawling to prostrate. Aromatic, smelling like turpentine. Young branches hairy. Leaves alternating along the stems, 1-6 cm long, to 30 mm wide, deeply dissected, segments with pointed tips, surfaces sparsely cottony-hairy, margins curved down, lower surface with yellow resin droplets. Flowers bisexual and female, with 3-5 'petals' fused almost to the tips. Inflorescence spike like, consisting of flower clusters of 3-5 flowers along the stems. Flowers all year.
